IACUC Policies and Regulations

The IACUC and CMR have developed an extensive set of policies covering the care and use of animals in a research environment. Investigators at Rutgers will find answers and guidance on questions regarding topics such as genotyping, anesthesia, analgesia and humane end-points among many others. Investigators are encouraged to consult these documents in addition to consulting with CMR veterinarians when formulating their animal research protocols.

Animal Welfare Policy

Rutgers maintains an Animal Welfare Policy outlining our ethical and legal commitments when using animals in research, teaching, testing and production. All faculty, staff and students involved in using live vertebrate animals for such work should consult this document and are required to conform to it.
